NewsStand Subscriptions

A few questions regarding NewsStand subscriptions in NPrinting:

  • Is there a way to limit what reports a person can subscribe to? Example: Finance person can only subscribe to finance reports
    • To me it does not seem like this is possible. Even if a person is not a recipient of the report, they can still go in to Subscriptions, Create Subscription, and select any report.
  • Can we see who subscribed to what or who unsubscribed from what in the Newsstand?
    • Cannot find this functionality anywhere.

Is anyone able to do these things?

Have you studied official help?

To me it does not seem like this is possible. Even if a person is not a recipient of the report, they can still go in to Subscriptions, Create Subscription, and select any report.

To achieve that study how to use Roles. You will have to create custom roles (app based) and assign them to users. You can use NPrinitng roles to set who can see what and also what people can do in News Stand and Admin console:

regarding News Stand overview see below:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2019/Content/NPrinting/DistributionSchedulesAutomation...

since Subscription is a Publish Task you will see new tasks visible in Admin Console.

Thanks, Lech. Very helpful.

I believe we can accomplish what we are trying to do via app-based custom Security Roles in the NPrinting Admin Console.

And while there is not an easily consumable report for this, we can see who created new subscriptions via the Publish Tasks. The Publish Task says: “Report Name’ subscription for 'Username'.

It also looks like users cannot unsubscribe from Corporate reports.

Please have a look at this:

and this:

I wrote qvs library which you can use to pull all your publish task information and create a simple QlikView or Qlik Sense app to report on it.

What do you mean by this below?
