No such user Error on email report

I'm attempting send an email from NPrinting to a new distribution list. I have other reports that send to other distribution lists and send find; however, when I attempt to send to this new distribution list I am receiving the error "No such user".

The distribution list works when I send directly to it from my email. The user within NPrinting is setup correctly with the user profile having the role "User" attributed to it.

Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how to fix it?

Please take a look at this KB article: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/NPrinting-No-Email-Will-Be-Sent-or-Emails-No...

Possible causes of this error are the following:

  • NPrinting Email SMTP settings not configured correctly
  • Correct Roles not assigned
  • Publish Task Configuration incomplete
  • Email message size to large for allowed limits on your email server
  • External and internal email addresses not allowed to be relayed/delivered from the required NPrinting Server through the designated SMTP email server
  • Clustered email servers not supported
  • Anti Spam and file size settings
  • Possible bug if using NP 17.6. If using this version of NPrinting, you may upgrade to the latest release of NPrinting and select the NP admin>Email setting option "Disable certificate validation"
  • NPrinting Recipient User filters correctly results in no data for that user
  • NPrinting Condition applied to the NPrinting Report or Publish Task evaluates to 'False'
If the issue is solved please mark the answer with Accept as Solution.

I will also add to this that there could be section access in play. This is rather small chance - but worth checking

Hi - I guess this is a case in your situation: Newly Created User IS Unable To Receive Reports From Nprinting Log shows No Such User (qlik.com)

Check with your SMTP admin the relay restrictions.

cheers

Hi,

Please check the log files to see if there are more details. Check also the task executions page. It could be an error from the SMTP server that Qlik NPrinting intercepts, so check also that the recipient exists in the mail server and that the user used by Qlik NPrinting to send emails is allowed to send messages to that address.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

When you say "The distribution list works when I send directly to it from my email"

Does that mean you send to an Outlook AD distribution list email address from your outlook email client?

I sense we are talking about two separate things here:

  • NPrinting Groups (NPrinting Group distribution list used with NPrinting Publish Tasks in the NP web console).
  • Active Directory Distribution lists (Used with an email client ie: Outlook)

Can you share some screenshots (redacted) of exactly what is working vs not working?

Kind regards..
