Recipients disappeared from reports

Hi,

Recently, we started getting complains from recipients about not getting reports.

Checking the publish task revealed that that recipients is not included in the task recipients list  any more.

We didn't exceed the license number.

What could be the reason?

The version is

Qlik NPrinting May 2022

Version: 22.15.2.0

Thanks!

Hi @dana

This topic is little bit all over the place so I will try to structure it bit more:

  1. Do you have any other NPrinting environment (Test or Dev)?
    1. if yes - what license are you using there?
  2. Have you migrated this instance from another instance maybe?
  3. DO you use NPrinting API?
    1. maybe you have scripts which alter list of users. It can happen if someone in your organization used API to play with users import/export etc...
  4. Do you have any recipient import task? Please check: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2022/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Import-Users-Fi...
    1. If yes - we would need to see how it is configured
  5. Do you have any backup/restore procedures setup in your environment?
  6. I suggest you turn on audit trail log and as soon as you notice that user disappeared we may be able to pin point it to particular action as this log will have all required details: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2022/Content/NPrinting/AdministeringQVNprinting/Audit-trail...

I never experienced similar behaviour to yours so it must be something obvious we are missing.

Hi,

Turned out there is an option which was checked  that caused it:

Remove users not present in newest import sources

Thanks for trying to help!

... so at the end it was obvious thing which @Digvijay_Singh  told you about in his answer following my comment about import tasks 😂

I knew there is no magic there.

Hi @Lech_Miszkiewicz ,

With all respect,  as  "mere mortal", I would never have guessed from your answers, that there is a specific setting to uncheck.
We opened a service call, and got this resolved.

So I hope my answer will help someone in the future 🙂

Thanks!

@dana

I am little confused with this solution, earlier you mentioned no one has performed user import task in your set up but this setting looks like makes impact during import activity. Not sure though as someone else takes care of it in my organization.

Thanks,

Hi,

Sorry for the confusion.

I understood that you meant that it was a manual task, done deliberately, and not an automatic task.
