Syntax Error - Invalid Character in Nprinting ondemand extension

Hi All,

I'm trying to create an on Qlikview Nprinting on demand extension (either report or task). I have started service with the connection in Nprinting Server. However, when I create an object and add parameters (Connection Path, Connection Name, Report Name) and try to click on the same. It says, Syntax Error - Invalid Character.

I've tried all possible things by placing connection file where the folder name or path doesn't have a space in it. But nothing worked.

I tried to go through all the requirements & prerequisites. And everything seems to be in the way it should but still it shows the error. Can anyone please help.

Many thanks in advance.

Sounds weird. But this only works when I select something. Or may be we need to make any selection to run nprinting report or task. It also gives syntax error if don't make any selection.

If you look in the Filter Settings tab of your NP Report or NP Task object, you'll see a checkbox named 'Use current selections'. It would seem that if this is checked (as it is by default), and you try to run a report / task with nothing selected, then you get this syntax error.

Hi All,

Are you able to run On-Demand report/task if no selections is done?

If so, the problem can be due to a character that is passed to NPrinting with a selection.

My suggestion is that you open a case with the QlikView support team.

Could you attach a complete environment to replicate the error (NPrinting file, template, scrambled\reduced QVW and the dashboard you use for the On-Demand)?

We will check which is the character causing the error message  and fix the problem.

Kindly, verify be sure that you are running the latest NPrinting release, the problem may already be resolved.
