The method or operation is not implemented

All

I have the above error message appearing when I am trying to edit a report, I am fairly sure that this has happened because one of the connections on the report is missing an object that is already included in the NPrinting template.

I have seen other entries on this community that state that the best thing to do is to re-create the report, but I can't believe that this is the solution, surely there is a log entry somewhere that tells me which object is in the report that is now not in the connection.

If this was a simple one page report based on one connection then I would re-create it as it would be faster, but this is a 50 page PPT based on 14 connections and is going to take some time to re-create.  I suppose I also don't want to believe that I'm using a product that is incapable of giving me any more information than an almost useless error message.

Any thoughts out there?

It looks like you have probably deleted the source connection to this report.
Recreating the connection does not re-associate the connection to the report. The connection deletion orphans the report and results in the method not found issue in most cases where this issue is reported.

Hi,

There is the Check Entities button in the Qlik nPrinting Designer. Remember to refresh the cache of all connections and close and re-open the Qlik NPrinting Designer after.

Thanks for the response.

I think this feature was introduced in the Sept 2018 version, we are using April 2018 so we don't have it, is there any way to do the same with our version.

Note that applying upgrades multiple times per year in an investment bank is pretty close to impossible.

Where can I see all of the release notes for NPrinting?

Would be good for me to put a case together to upgrade.

Hi,

If you cannot upgrade to have the Check Entities feature the only solution is to manually find what object was removed from a connected app and that is still used in the template.

We added this feature to simplify this kind of search and it is not available in older versions.

New features, improvements and bug fixes are released only on new versions. We never apply them to old ones as per delivery policy.

Maybe you could retrieve the Qlik Sense apps from backups or you could install a testing Qlik NPrinting server with latest version, import there the template and retrieve the object that is missing.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
