WARN: error during report generation: Object RMtxEY from Sense app

Good morning.
Today we woke up with an error that only occurs in one of our reports.

The error says: "WARN: error during report generation: Object RMtxEY from Sense app ed18824f-d7a2-4e1a-a11f-594966881238 had problems while rendering. ERROR: CEF rendering exception. Error 'CEF_ON_JS_ERROR_MESSAGE_RECEIVED'. Image failed to render due to a JavaScript error. For further details, check '014d8d67-ac82-4513-9940-87dbb8353eb9' in nprinting_engine_cef.log."

Later, it says the following message: "Failed generation of report 4001c835-ebec-49c4-bfc8-b808b42a250e for user eb3d10fb-d198-41c9-bfe4-a36618d0022a. Following the recommendation in the message, I recovered the content of the file: nprinting_engine_cef.log located in the path: C:\ProgramData\NPrinting\Logs from our NPrinting server. I attach the Log file in case it helps to see what the problem is.

@Gabo77

Your log file indicates 'mashup load failures' and 'timeout load failures' .

These can be encountered with your NP server, NP engine or the Qlik Sense server itself is overloaded.

The image above indicates also a possible problem with the actual object itself.

So given that a single log file, while informative' is simply not enough to understand the full extend of your environment, you can consider the following actions:

1 Problem exists only for a single task due to a single object 'RMtxEY' (ie: above): In this case, open the app containing the object, ensure to select the same filters used in the NP report and in the NP task. Does it open or does it hang? If it does not render in Qlik Sense, it will never render in NPrinting as NP relies on a healthy Qlik Sense app and Qlik Sense server to successfully export Qlik Sense images to NPrinting reports.

possible fixes:

  • Ensure you are not using extended Qlik Sense sheets as these are not supported (also carded themes not supported in older NP version (May 2023 and older.)
  • The image may have high rendering time requirements due to changes to the source image chart. In this case, you can update the image renderer.config timeout settings (up to 300 seconds)
  • Also review 'all' points in the following article. https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/NPrinting-Qlik-Sense-Images-Fail-to-Render-E... This article includes a link to the steps for modifying the renderer.config file.

2 Problem exists for multiple reports and report tasks:

  • Restart All Qlik sense and NPrinting servers to clear up system RAM resources (if this solves the issue, consider additional system resources to scale with your increasing demands on your NPrinting and Qlik Sense server environments.

Hope it helps...

Kind regards

Hi Frank, thanks for your replay.

The error occurs only for this task... all other are executing fine.

I can open the app and applying the same filters than the NPrinting, it responds fast and without hangs.

Regarding the fixes, the only thing I see related is the point about the extended sheet. This report has an extended sheet but, this has been work right since 2022, and just today, this error appears... do you think this can be the cause? Wahy does the report has been worked fine early?

Thanks!

hi @Gabo77

you say: "This report has an extended sheet but, this has been work right since 2022, and just today, this error appears..." I dont think extended sheets would cause this issue as documentation says they will only not keep their format: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2025/Content/NPrinting/ReportsDevelopment/Qlik-objects...

check for other unsupported objects?

The following questions would be:

  • what has changed?
  • were there any patches done,
  • what is this object you are getting error with?
  • Is this object maybe some 3rd party extension, vizlib or other?
  • What is the Qlik Sense version?
  • Have you rebooted both servers - just to be sure.

cheers
