Change data directory location to a network drive/shared drive

Hi All,

I am trying to change my Qlik Replicate data directory location to a network drive.

However, after following the steps mentioned here: Changing the data directory location on Windows #Changing the data directory location on Windows | Q...

The Qlik replicate service doesn't start and receive error code 1503.

The services works fine when I revert the changes.

Is there a different approach while changing data directory location to a network location? or any limitations?

Kindly assist.

Hi @dineshkumarl ,

As I know, placing the data folder to a network shared drive is not supported. You need to relocate the data folder to a local drive or a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV). Actually, Replicate can be installed in a failover HA environment and it is achieved by placing the data folder in a CSV.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Kent

Hello @dineshkumarl ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Qlik community!

Could you please cross verify with windows registry? Check for admin access for services?

In a Windows environment, error code 1503 might refer to a service-specific error. When a service fails to start or encounters an issue during operation, However, without additional context, it's challenging to provide a specific explanation for this error code.

Please create support case we will work with you accordingly.

Hello @dineshkumarl ,

@Kent_Feng is correct. Please take note that Using NFS or SMB-based storage is not supported by Qlik Replicate.

Hope this helps.

John.
