[DB2 for iSeries source] How much does CPU usage increase by using R4I UDTF

Hello support team.

[Info]
Source : DB2 for iSeries

[Question]
How much does DB2 CPU usage increase by using R4I UDTF?

When executed 1 task without R4I UDTF, DB2 CPU usage increased 15%.
Does R4I UDTF increase DB2 CPU usage than without R4I UDTF?

Best Regards.

Hello @iti-attunity-sup ,

Not really, there should be no significant different in CPU usage however as UDTF filer the return datasets by input interested tables name list it improves the data capture changes performance. I think this is what @OritA meant.

John.

Hi,

The onverhead of R4I UDTF is depending on the environment activity. Therefore, there is no one answer to your question. From our experience working with UDTF is more efficient than working with the native DB2 iSeries that selects the CDC info directly from the journal files. In any case to get a clear idea we recommend you perform a test that mimics the typical load that you have in your environment.

Orit

Hello Orit.
Thank you for your reply.

So in your experience, Is CPU usage with UDTF lower than CPU usage with native DB2 iSeries?
