Duplicating Replicate task via export and import .json

I am attempting to duplicate a Replicate (we're client-managed) task by exporting the source task as a .json, changing the name of the task in the .json, and importing, as outlined here: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Replicate/How-to-duplicate-a-task-in-Qlik-Replicate/td-p/1789449

When the Import Task window pops open, it works as expected...

...until I select Import, which results not in a new task but rather this bugged-out version of the same popup:

(yes, that's how it looks on my screen 😂)

Anyone have any alternative ideas for duplicating a task? I don't have access to the Replicate server in order to work in the CLI, and I haven't found anything helpful in QEM.

Hi @JacobTews

I'm not sure this is related to the JSON file itself - as a first step, can you please clear browser cookies, cache & etc.?

Thanks,

Dana

Hello @JacobTews  ,

Besides @Dana_Baldwin , how about another browser if possible?

thanks,

John.

Are you using the Replicate UI or the Enterprise Manager?

You wrote " I don't have access to the Replicate server in order to work in the CLI, and I haven't found anything helpful in QEM." Therefor you seem to be using the Enterprise manager. Can you directly connect to the Replicate server with your browser?

"Anyone have any alternative ideas for duplicating a task? " Well, there is the QEM API offering Import_all and Import_task to try.

It You can also try to reduce the task to the minimum removing databases and other sections which are not used for the intended change.

That "bugged-out version" symbol is typically used for a failed connection : ui-talking, server down.

Could it be an authentication issue? Are you allowed to import tasks? Can you re-import the original tasks JSON? Have you tried a 'DIFF' or "WinDIff" or "Notepad++ compare" to compare new and originals? Typos can easily slip in. Where did you change the name? It should be the second "Name": element, the one under "tasks":-->{ "task":

If you do not have access to the real Replicate server, can you perhaps install Replicate on a toy server,  and try REPCTL there. Just to import, not to run. You may find that the REPCMD.LOG file from REPCTL shows clear error messages.
