Network Requirements

Hi.

Does anyone know what the network requirements (latency, jitter, loss) are for Qlik Replicate?

If there are no published requirements, has any one any real world experience of what good looks like?

I'm aware of the following information, but I haven't been able to find any specifics in relation to network metrics:

Thanks in advance.

Hi @bfinnegan ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Qlik Community. The user guide only mentions recommendations for network bandwidth speed. Unfortunately, we don't have documentation on latency, jitter, or packet loss.

While jitter, latency, and packet loss are important for certain real-time applications, we've chosen not to include them in the general hardware requirements. These metrics can vary significantly depending on the user's location, network provider, and time of day, making them difficult to evaluate consistently. Instead, we focus on core specifications like CPU, RAM, disk space, and bandwidth, which are more stable and easier to assess across environments.

Regards,
Desmond

Hi Desmond,

Thanks for the reply. As there are no documented minimums, I'll assume that in most real world scenarios with decent networks, replication does not fail, but Apply Latency varies.

If anyone in the community can share any real world experience e.g. "Using Qlik Replicate over a 500Mbps network with a median 16ms RTT, jitter of 4ms, and 0.01% packet loss we achieve a throughput of around 100Mbps per stream with an Apply Latency of around 200ms" that would be useful.

Thanks!

PS I understand that I might not get that level of network detail from people in this community, but I trust there is no harm is asking
