Hello,
We wish to setup CDC using Qlik Replicate, having an Oracle database in OCI as the source and AWS Aurora PostgreSQL as the destination.
According to this page, (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/replicate/November2025/Content/Global_Common/Content/SharedReplicateHDD/... there are some limitations working with Oracle on Oracle Cloud.
Has anyone attempted CDC from OCI to AWS RDS before?
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Regards,
Kent
Hello Kent, @kendalf
While working with Oracle on Oracle Cloud, the following limitations apply:
• Using Oracle LogMiner to access the redo files is not supported.
• Due to insufficient permissions, the following options in the endpoint settings' Advanced tab are not supported:
• Replicate has file-level access to the redo log files
• Replace path prefix
At present, the recommended approach is to use the Replicate Log Reader. Most users prefer this method over Oracle LogMiner because it generally delivers better performance and places less load on the source Oracle database.
In Replicate Log Reader mode, Qlik Replicate reads the redo log files and parses the changes on the Replicate server itself. In contrast, Oracle LogMiner relies heavily on the source database’s CPU resources to process changes.
We have many customers successfully using Oracle on Oracle Cloud as a source endpoint. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you encounter any specific issues.
Good luck!
John.
