We have recently started using Qlik Replicate and installed the Replicate service on a Linux server. However, when we tried to add more users, we realized that the Replicate UI needs to be set up on a Windows server for user management.
I am wondering if running Replicate and UI on Windows has any disadvantages compared to having two servers (Linux for replication agent and UI for user management)?
Qlik Replicate Linux install only supports the local admin role and the user permissions on the Qlik Replicate application are not supported. This is because of the lack of .NET UI Services on Linux, see the user guide section "Qlik Replicate UI server configuration"
There can only be one Replicate user which is "admin". This user "admin" has admin privileges, and you cannot create additional users.
