As part of the SAP Application (DB) Source instructions, there is a section on Business Groups.
"This prerequisite is only necessary if you want to edit the default Business Groups"
In practice, we found that whilst many tables are already assigned to groups, may are not.
Hence we have to go into the transaction (ZR4SAP) and add them to a group.
So questions are :
> Did the transaction ZR4SAP get installed as one of the transports when setting up client ?
> Why do we need to have business groups in the first place ? (what function do they provide ?)
> Where did the default assignments come from ?
> Does changing these have any impact within SAP itself , beyond Qlik Replicate use ?

Many Thanks for insight 🙂

HI All,
I am stuck in a similar case where I have not created any business group .
Needed the solution on the same as declustered tables like BSEG are visible to me but pool tables like A005 are not.
I have similar queries
> Is it mandatory to create a new business group and add Pool tables?
> Where did the default assignments come from ?
> Does changing these have any impact within SAP itself , beyond Qlik Replicate use
Could you please help with the information
Thanks
Kiran
From what I understand & have experienced, it is necessary for *any* table to be assigned to a business group before you can use it in a task. Some are pre-assigned, others you have to do yourself.
Managing business groups and tables | Qlik Replicate Help
Default assignments I 'believe' are set when you install the SAP transports 'configuration' file
Install the Qlik Replicate for SAP Client on the SAP machine | Qlik Replicate Help
(my only outstanding question is *why* do the need to use Groups at all in the first place ?)
Thanks!!
This helps a lot.
Also this applies to DeClustered tables like BSEG, BSEC , KONV as well correct??
All the tables irrespective of cluster/pool needs to be added in Business group for them to be visible?
Thank you for the post to the Forums. I believe R4SK900109 is the pre-delivered Transport for the Business Groups in the SAP environment. I would follow the steps as outlined in the R4ZSAP transaction when setting up the Tables to be Replicated along with the latest Service Pack either in the 2022.5 or 2022.11 versions of Replicate is also applied. Since these are Cluster Tables we added improvements to the Tool with the latest Service Packs for the versions noted in Replicate.
