is it possible that my tswp is not automatically empty ? How to check the contain in this file?

I found a big tswp file.

How can I move it to another disk/directory?

How can I check what contains the file ( transaction info I suppose)?

Is it possible that the file keeps its big size even if it is empty ?

thanks

Hello,

The tswp file will be deleted as soon as it has been processed.

If you still see the tswp file then there will be un-committed transactions. Deleting these tswp file will result in data inconsistency.

How can I check what contains the file? : These files are not in human readable format.

Hello @herve6464 ,

Thanks for reaching out to Qlik Community!

The tswp files are used to store transactions which are not applied to target endpoint yet, Qlik Replicate Offload transactions in progress to disk under some scenarios.

These files are Qlik Replicate internally used and the default location is under Qlik Replicate DATA folder in every task subfolder. Qlik Replicate purge/cleanup these files automatically after the transactions stored in the files are successfully applied to target side, no need to operate them manually. And It's not recommend to move the tswp files folder.

Hope this helps.

John.

Hello @herve6464

Thank you for contacting the Qlik Community!

TSWP files are utilized to store transactions that have not yet been applied to the target endpoint. Under certain circumstances, Qlik Replicate offloads in-progress transactions to disk.

These files are used internally by Qlik Replicate and  Qlik Replicate automatically purges or cleans up these files once the transactions they contain are successfully applied to the target.

Therefore, there is no need for manual intervention. Additionally, it is not recommended to relocate the TSWP files folder.

TSWP file are read by the QR internal Engine no one can read those except QR.
