Hello Suraj,

1. The lookup is usually done once by QlikView and the information is cached.
2. You can verify this by looking at the Directory Service Connector (QSC) log to see the time the users accessed the QlikView infrastructure . You should see a lookup of groups. for the user.
3. What issue are you experiencing?

Thanks

Hi @Suraj_Maraje,

Correct, when an end user is accessing a QlikView file on the AccessPoint, the DSC isn't in play. The general purposes of the DSC are as follows:

  • The Web Server Service uses DSC for group resolution
  • The Distribution Service uses DSC to look up e-mail addresses or UIDs during distribution
  • The Management Service uses DSC to help the administrator find users and groups in the QMC

Hi Ray,

Thanks for response.

We are not facing any issue.

I would like to know how DSC works when user is accessing dashboard.

1. Do you mean, "cache expiry in minutes" is the value for which QV is caching user/group information?

2. I observed Directory connector logs, it is generating log when user accessed dashboard on access point like below.

20230619T061909.369-0700 Information (ActiveDirectory.ActiveDirectoryProvider) Query: '(&(sAMAccountName=user1)(&(!(objectclass=computer))(objectGUID=*))(|(&(objectCategory=group)(groupType:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2147483648))(|(objectClass=User)(objectClass=person))))'
20230619T061909.557-0700 Information (ActiveDirectory.ActiveDirectoryProvider) Query completed - 1 hits

Does this mean QV is not syncing AD while user accessing dashboard? is it only accessing AD as per the value of "cache expiry in minutes"?
