Are there published best practices for reloading from a server

Hi,

My organization is new to QlikView. Our implementation is moving along nicely. However, as the number of QVD produced increases we noted that some were not automatically refreshed on the server (although then Status tab of the qmec screen says that the last executions were in the past)

1) How can I monitor that problem occured (or not)?

2) What are the best practices to scheduling the massive reload (25 documents produced as source QVD documents) for ±5 qvw made available to the users)?

Any information that could stir us in the right direction will be appreciated.

Thanks

Alain

If you are reloading using QlikVIew Publisher, you can setup e-mail alerts if something is going wrong...

I believe I did that but no email has been sent.

In EMC, under QlikView Servers, my server,

Logging tab:

  • in Log level, everything is selected
  • The log folder exists
  • the verbosity is set to high, and
  • the file split is set to Daily

Alerts tab:

  • Email address verified

Under mail server, I was able to send a test email to that address.

This leads me to believe that my email setting for alert should be alright. Is there any other logging for me to enable?

Thanks

Oh! Just noticed the "... if you are using QlikView publisher..." we are not... hum...

Any idea as to how to do this without the publisher?

Thanks
