Check for QlikView server upgrade issues

1. Upgrade may cause QlikView to become unlicensed
-> Is there any problem if I reapply the license?
2. The internal logic of “Export to Excel” has been changed
-> It says it is recommended to update to 12.60, but if I upgrade to May 2021 12.60 SR1 or May 2021 12.60 SR2, will the "Export to Excel" issue be resolved?
3. Security enhancement: Stricter certificate handling for secure web files
-> Make sure that the certificate was issued by a trusted CA, is valid and was issued to the domain of the website the reference is
accessing
--> Can you give me more details on how to check this?
4. No PDF printer driver on Windows 2012
->If I upgrade from Windows 2012 to May 2021 12.60 SR1 or SR2 QlikView server, is the printer not usable?

1. No, no problem. However, make sure to take a backup of the pgo files, just in case.

2. Yes, 12.60 SR2 also includes the improvement

3. If you are downloading data from https web pages, you'll need to make sure that the https has a valid certificate from a trusted certification authority. You can test that by opening the https main URL in a  browser on the QlikView Server and see if there's any alert about the certificate in the URL. If you are not downloading data from https web pages, you can just ignore this part.

4. If you are on Windows 2012, you will need to do a couple of changes in order to continue exporting to PDF in both AJAX and the QlikView Publisher. Check the linked content for both.

Hi @qwebnm

3. Refers to loading data into a document.

So, if you have, in any of your dashboards, script lines that contain something like

FROM

Then you'll need to act on that: https://support.qlik.com/articles/000005588
If you're not loading anything from https, then you don't have to worry

The fact that you open the AccessPoint in http or https has nothing to do with this

4. The URLS are correct, probably you still have the old ones in your browser cache.
Here they come again!

- When accessing the access point browser, it seems to be accessing with http. In that case, can I not check the https problem?

- There is only Cal backup in the referenced link. Can I back up Cal in the ProgramData path and the root folder path?
No other action required?

Hi @qwebnm!

3. That is about opening the AccessPoint, which is a different matter. The "downloading from web pages" refers to having in the reload scripts some sections that load data directly from a https source (instead than, say, a database, a locally-hosted file, or else). So the two things are not related.

4. My mistake! 😅 Something went wrong when copying and pasting the links. I have fixed the links now, you can check them!

3. I still don't quite understand.
Please explain again with an example or in detail!

4. Still the reference links are only for Cal backups.

Please confirm!
