In what case(s) would you want to disable SNMP for QlikView? What services rely on this? What are the downstream ramifications?
Hi.
If QV's SNMP causes problem, the support suggested the following:
Try the following solution and let me know if it solved the issue:
Start >> regedit --> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> QlikTech --> QlikViewServer --> Settings 7
On QV 32-bit you can find the Key under :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Settings 7
add a String = SNMPPort
Value = 999 (or anything other than 161 )
Alternatively (disable SNMP entirely):
String = EnableSNMP
Value = 0
In v10 to disable SNMP, add the following string in the QlikView Server configuration file ( [Settings 7] paragraph of C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Settings.ini )
EnableSNMP=0

This setting has a tendency to reset to 1 which means SNMP is reenabled - does anyone know why or when?
@NMMichael: If you run HP hardware and you want to use HP standard software to monitor the server hardware, you need to disable qlikview snmp since it otherwise takes ownership of port 161.
