Hi Guys
We have QlikView 7 from years back but did not have support. We have upgraded to QlikView 10, however, we have large complicated application in QlikView 7 that I need to edit and publish on the QlikView server so it now reads from SQL Server instead of a proprietary database but I can't get into the document in QlikView 10 to redesign it. I'm loathed to recreate it because of it's size and complexity. My only optio is to edit it on a machie that has QliKView 7 installed on it.

Just opening an older version document should not be a problem since they use the same file format since version 6. Does it give any clue what the problem might be?
You could try installing version 8 or 9 which are available in the download area and see if it helps.

I get an error Access denied. The file was created by a licensed QlikView user and since you are using a QlikView Personal Edition you may not open this file.
However, I've uploaded my licence which has a user cal and 10 document CALs. Do I need anything else?

As an aside, I've nver been able to contact the licence enabling server and I have to do a licence update everytime I load QlikView but that's another story ....
You must take a licensie from your server to get i Licensed Qlikview an so you can open anydocuement to lease the License open your QV Desktop and in help tab--> Open in server sign with a valid user and put the name or ip fo your server, the open any document and that's it you have a licensed QV Desktop.
Hi Steve,
Did you find a solution to your problem. I am having a similar issue.
