I have 3 servers
1) Publisher
2) Qlikview Cluster (2 servers)
Currently the QMC is install on all servers but the cluster is managed from Cluster Node one.
I want to stop the QMC on the two Cluster nodes and use it on the Publisher Server for all the Services.
Is this as simple has it sounds.
Stop the two QMC on the cluster nodes and connect from the Publisher server and reapply Licences?
Regards
Steven
Your 2 server QlikView Server cluster will give resilience as well as extra grunt.
To expand this resilience I would create a small VM and run QMC on that with the inherent resilience of VM's. QMC is a light weight service / Web Server and ideally suited to this.
Hi Steve,
In addition to Bills post, you wouldn't need to re-apply any licences if moving the QMC.
The QMC is a standalone service, so as long as it has the correct permissions and is pointed to your 3 servers you could run it from any machine.
It is already setup the way I have described.
my question was really if I install QMC somewhere else is it has simple has pointing it at the cluster or will all the setting need recreating in the new QMC?
Hi Steven,
Remember that you can only run one QMC at a time. If you try to run two you will have major issues.
To setup another QMC for disaster recovery, all you need is to point the QMC to the QVPR database.
Bill
I have two
One that is running publisher
One that is running just the Cluster of QVS
This works just fine. but I want just One QMC.
I want to get to the point where the Publisher QMC controls Publisher and the Cluster.
The question is can I just add the Cluster to the Publisher QMC and just turn off the Cluster QMC or will I need to Setup all the setting for the Cluster Servers Again on the Publisher QMC?
