QMC - Setup - Performance setting.
Can you elaborate on what the settings below do?
How does changing the value by raising or lowering it affect performance (CPU, MEM) or other areas?
1. Working Set
2. Sessions
3. Document
4. CPU
Please answer.
Thanks & Regards.
Hi, have you checked to help page: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/May2022/Subsystems/QMC/Content/QV_QMC/QMC_System_Setup_QlikView...
From the defaults, it there is RAM above 64 Gb you can set an higher Low and High values, but this also depends of the complexity and optimization of the reloads tasks and expressions. Just have enough RAM free for some peak of RAM use that can go over the higher setup so it has enough RAM free to keep the consumption below 99%.
As @rubenmarin said the help is an excelled place to start. Have you seen that there is a help button on the top right corner in the QMC?
This will take to the help page for the section you are currently in. Just a little tip to save time.
Hi, more than CPU or RAM, if specifies how much resources can server use.Basically you want to use as much as you have, and only keep the minimun amount free to avoid server hangs or even crashes.
If CPU is most of the time at 100% maybe there is something in the documents or relods that needs an optimization, kepping this at the default 0 should work, meaning to use al CPU available.
If you have a lot of RAM you can set higher Low and High, just monitorize the ram use to know if you go higher.
Sessions, do you need more than 5000? you want to set a lower limit? I don't see a reason, note the message on the link I posted: "If the server is dedicated for the QlikView Server, this function should not be used."
What value for document to increase/decrease?

Please carefully read the help page, it's a short page: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/May2022/Subsystems/QMC/Content/QV_QMC/QMC_System_Setup_QlikView...
And there is no global answer for this, each deployment has it's owns needs and configurations

Thank you for answer.
