Power Tools for QlikView May 2022 SR1

Looking for the version of Power tools which will work with QlikView May 2022 SR1.

Anyone have a link they can share?

I am finding some but they look suspicious.

Thank you,

Craig Leite

You are missing a lot of files in the QVPR DB.

Hi Bill,  You noted I am missing files in the QVPR?  I did not copy the .bak files thinking that would work better.

What is an example of missing files in the QVPR?

I was able to edit the config file with notepad++ and point that one at the new server but I am not able to change the license service to look at the license for my test server.  Where or what file needs to be edited to change that server name from the production server name?

Thank you,

Craig Leite

@cleite2014, below is what the XML DB Viewer tool typically looks like with a QVPR loaded.

So again, it could be the QVPR you are attempting to open is corrupted. Suggest that you try opening another QVPR instance as I mentioned previously.

Hi Chip, I get the same error when I try to open the qvpr on my production server.  I only have production and a temporary test server here at Larson.

Thank you,

@cleite2014,

Try opening the QVPR from an earlier date and see if that makes a difference.

%ProgramData%\QlikTech\ManagementService\QVPR\Backups

Extract the contents of the .zip file to an empty directory and then use  the Open Database menu in XML DB Viewer to navigate to the directory.

Hi Chip,

I finally got the qvpr server names all changed to my new environment.  Yesterday when I was using notepad++ it did not allow me to edit but running as admin today on the server I could get the edits done.  xml database viewer continues to throw the error.  Question: I have only the *.xml files in the qvpr folder on the new server.  Will the backups be created going forward if they do not exist in the qvpr folder?  I have never had to make a server name change and want to make sure the backups will create.

Thank you,

Craig Leite

Hi Bill, do you have some example file names I am missing?  I have the server name changed now in the qvpr xml files.  Notepad allowed me when running it as admin on the server.

Thanks for your response earlier today.

Hi,

Not really. These tools have not been updated for a long time, and they are, mildly put, probably out of support by now.

Hi,

In your QVPR you have a Config.xml. Remove it, it shouldn't be there. That is what is hanging the  Viewer.
