Qlik Licenses Prd vs DEV

We have a QlikView 12.70 production and dev server.

1. If I assign the licences on the PRD server, are they synced to the DEV server as well. Meaning: do the same users with the same type of licence appear on DEV automatically? Or do I have to put in the users in DEV manually as well? The users are coming from companies AD server.

2. Can I assign licences to different users on DEV as on PRD?

Thanks!

Wouter

Ps: the licence numbers on both machines are different.

Hi, sorry for being a bit unclear. I meant to say, all users with license assignment, will be synced between any servers that share a SLK license.

A user can also have a license assigned from another system that uses another SLK.

So you can have DEV on a separate license if you don't want the sync.

But they don't get any access automatically, they are just in the user list.

A user can be in more than one system with the same time.

The sync of users are tied to the specific  SLK. All installations using the same key will sync. Even if they are completely separate.

So to be able to assign users specific to the DEV, you have to have a separate SLK.

Note , just because they have a license they do not get access to any apps if they don't have permissions to do so.

Thanks for the quick reply Maria. How can I check to what SLK a user is tied?

Hi @WouterTrappers,

An SLK is applied to a QlikView Server instance and can be applied on multiple QlikView / Qlik Sense Servers. Any users on the servers on which the SLK has been applied, would be "tied to" that SLK.
