QlikView AccessPoint Bookmark Feature Question.

When I reinstalled the plug-in version with the same bookmark, it was overwritten with the bookmark of the previous user.

Why is this happening?

What are the symptoms of reinstalling the plugin?

Is there any way to restore the original bookmark settings?

Please reply.
thank you.

User Objects and Bookmarks are stored in the .SHARED or .TSHARED file residing in the same location as the QlikView document (.QVW)

You can also see all server bookmarks, if the are shared and who owns them in the QMC. What kind of log are you looking for?

Hello Seheon,

Which bookmarks were overwritten? To which previous user are you referring?

Also, I would strongly recommend you to move to a fully supported version, either May 2021 or May 2020 (aka. as QlikView 12.60 or QlikView 12.70).

Cheers,

Albert

The bookmark of the person who used the license ID before was overwritten with the bookmark of the current user when the plug-in was reinstalled.

And if there is a way to recover bookmarks, please let me know.

thank you

Are you talking about personal bookmarks or server bookmarks?

I also don't think that the license should have anything to do with the bookmarks.

Use a user account that is assigned a license on the server.

This is the bookmark that appears when you open the qvw file of the access point on your personal PC with that user account.

If the license is the same, is it correct for the same bookmark to appear?

And if there are manuals or reference materials related to bookmarks, please give me some data.

thank you

If they are using personal bookmarks, the bookmarks are available for the user that created them and are logged in to the same PC as they were created on.  The license has no role in this.

Short explanation of the different bookmark types (from the help)

  • Document bookmarks: are stored inside the QlikView document. They will always be available to whoever opens the document locally or from a QlikView Server.
  • User bookmarks: are stored separately on the user’s computer. They will only be available to the user who created them on the computer where they were created. If the document is moved or renamed all personal bookmarks related to it will be lost.
  • Personal Server bookmarks: are only available when working with a document on QlikView Server and only to authenticated users. They are stored in a repository on the server and are accessible to the user from any computer where authenticated.
  • Shared Server bookmarks: are only available when working with a document on QlikView Server and only to authenticated users. Any user who has created a personal server bookmark may flag this as shared to other users. They will then become available to other users. Just like personal server bookmarks shared server bookmarks are stored in a repository on the server.
  • Temporary bookmarks: are created by QlikView when some functions are used, such as Mail with Bookmark as Link and document chaining. They are only available when working with a document on QlikView Server and only to authenticated users.

There is a bookmark section in the help, see

Bookmark help

Q) When bookmarks are stored on server storage, where are they stored and can I see them?

After logging in to AccessPoint, is there a way to open qvw and check the bookmark modified log?

Please answer.
thank you.
