QlikView DSC - how do you change the URL?

Afternoon all, I'm trying to amend the URL for the DSC service but failing... it seems that the QlikView Management Console is ignoring my request.

I goto QMC->System->SetUp->Distribution Services->general tab on the right->change the URL from:

http://incorrectURL

to

http://correctURL

click apply and the QMC says "QDS did not respond to request.
Last exception (for http://incorectURL)..." So for some reason QlikView is ignoring my URL change???

Anyone know how to resolve this?

Thank you,

Chris

Thank you Bill, yes I am supplying the port number. But thank you.

Actually I spoke to the QlikView support desk, and the issue turned out to be very simple. It appears that you cannot change the URL if the QDS windows service is not running. I had stopped the old service because I wanted to move it onto another machine.

So to solve this:

On the machine with the incorrectURL, make sure the QDS windows service is running.

Change the URL.

Stop the QDS service on the machine in incorrectURL.

Hi Chris,

If you put the URL in Internet explorer what is returned? Are you putting in the port number also?
