QlikView Report Distribution failed with ' No distribution required' recorded in Document Log

Hi everyone,

I am quite new to QlikView publisher. I knew how to configure the distribution services for reports in QMC but have no idea how this publisher engine work behind the scene.

2 months ago, all of our daily report distribution tasks, involving 3 different QV apps (.qvw), have suddenly failed for a reason logged as 'No Distribution Required', indicating the publisher could not find any email addresses from the field(s) that providing the email addresses.

Worked together with Qlik Support we made a number of different attempts like rebooting either the server or the relevant services, checking the script integrity of the QVW files, and so on, the problem still could not be fixed until we re-licensed the Publisher last time, and the issue has gone, as least for a while.

Just yesterday morning, the same issue came back, and again it suddenly impacted on every one of our daily distribution task, with the same log 'No Distribution Required' recorded.

We went through basically the same diagnosis procedures like last time, and got no luck as expected. Yet as re-licensing  the product seems not being a robust solution, we just wonder if any one else has ever encountered the same issue so that we work together to prove this as a critical bug of Qlik Publisher?

Due to policy reasons I can't expose the log details, and thank you in advance for understanding.

Thank you very much,

Sherwin

Hi,

This can mean that there was no users found to do the distribution to. Message me with the case number.

Sherwin, I am sorry to hear you are having issues with Publisher, it is generally a pretty solid product, but obviously you have been experiencing some challenges.

By chance can you post the Support Case(s) you have had on this issue, so I can go have a look at them directly to see if I can spot something?  My best hunch at the moment is that you may have something crossed up in your QVPR files, but generally redoing the license should not fix that, but I would not mind having a look at those, but I know you probabaly do not wish to post them here, so if you can give me the case number, I should be able to go find them there if you attached them.

Regards,
Brett
