QlikView Server on different instance than Publisher

I am trying to install QlikView Server and Web Server on different instance than the Publisher.

The way I did this was:

Log into Publisher Server Machine .

In QMC:

After doing this, and ensuring all the services are up on both machines, I still see "2 services are down" on the Publisher Machine. And when I open System -> Setup - QlikView Servers on the Publisher Machine it just spins and spins doing nothing until much later I get the error:

The QlikView Server could not be contacted.
Make sure that the QVS is available with the correct credentials.

It won't even allow me to revert my settings in the above two bullet points.. What are we doing wrong here?!

We are on QV 11m Windows Server 2008 R2, and IIS Webserver

Have you disabled the QlikView Server and Web Server services on the Publisher machine?

Yes. The Publisher Machine has QlikView Server Service not running, and Web Server not even installed.

Thanks Rob!!

Some things to check.

1. That service accounts on both machines are members of the local QlikView Administrators group on both machines.

2. The logs in c:\ProgramData\QlikVIew\ManagementService

Service accounts are indeed in the QV Admin Group. I know this since, Individually, QlikView Server Service works on each machine if you point it to itself.

The logs is a great idea! I didn't know they existed in that directory and here are the errors I see:

You can modify the <QvsModeDscUrl> setting in the c:\ProgramData\QlikTech\ManagementService\Config.xml file, if you need to revert to your previous configuration.
