The "Send to Excel" function works fine using QlikView Desktop on our QlikView server. When my end users open the app through AccessPoint, using the IE plugin, they cannot export to Excel. The button does nothing.
I added the server to the Trusted Sites list in IE, but that actually removes their ability to open AccessPoint. It's almost as if I had added the server to the Restricted Sites list.
The users need to be able to open the QV app, and the Send to Excel button should open Excel on their local machine.
Any ideas as to why this is happening?
I forgot to mention that "Enable Protected Mode" under Trusted Sites is deselected.
Stupid question: Have the users Excel installed on their machines? Do they have the same version on plugin as you have server version? I have seen problems with that.
Jerry:
It's not a stupid question at all. Yes, Excel is installed on the local machine.
I'm not sure why, but after restarting the browser several times, Send to Excel is working most of the time. Ajax always works, but not as well and I lose functionality of the IE Plugin.
In QlikView Enterprise Management Console
--> System
--> Setup
-->QlikView Server
URL: must be the same URL that your user use to reach your application
If the users browse to http://qlikview.yourcompany.com/
The URL must be http://qlikview.yourcompany.com/QvPrint
