When clicking on a charts "sent to excel" icon the file name is something like: 6675a78ff33a4b6f8ab8612b3cd02633.xls. Any way to change to have a friendly name vs. all the hex values?
which version of qlikview are you using.
i'm using 8.5 and it exports as CH31_20090909_175554
which i used to think was just a bit random but turns upon closer inspection its the object ID followed by the date and time.
i cant see a setting that would change it. unless there is a setting in excel?
Using 9.x of QlikView. When I add a friendly name to the chartId I do get RoamingTrend_20100909_101246.xls
but from the Ajax client still getting 8af45d1282cb4b128fa937b5e17145d0.xls.
Would really like RoamingTrend_20100909_101246.xls from Ajax too.
Did you ever find an answer to the excel naming issue. I have the same problem with Ajax.
When you Export to Excel, the QV server will generate a temporary file with random but guaranteed unique name.
That there cannot be 30 people writing 30 different Excel files to same filename 🙂
