how do i disable certain apps(qvw) in the access point

Hi  everybody,

           I want to know if i can temporarily disable certain apps which are being displayed in the access point through QMC

Oh but that can be done using standard QMC tricks, and without much hassle.

  1. Create a new directory on your server. See that it does not overlap in any way with your current document root.
  2. Move your QVD generators to the new directory. You may have to adjust a few paths in your load script.
  3. In QMC->System->Setup->QlikView Server->Folders, add the new directory as a Mounted folder, and disable the browsable flag.

All your documents (end-user documents and QVD generators) will still appear in QMC, but only the end-user documents will be visible in the AccessPoint.

If you have an EE server in DMS mode and a publisher, remove access rights in the Authorizations tab of User Documents. But be warned: every subsequent publication will reset the access rights to what is specified in the task.

Otherwise, change NTFS file rights or move the documents to a different directory

hi Peter,

thanks for replying we have a small businees edition server .

what kind of rights i need to assign in the case of assigning ntfs permissions, because i need to schedule the QVD generator for generating new qvd's which is in the same path as that of the main aapplication QVW

no we do not have license for publisher

Remove it from Root Folder and pasted it in other folders.
