Something like 4,294,967,295 files and 256 terabytes (NTFS)?

I think limitations are mostly practical in that it becomes a hassle to manage more than a few hundred files in a single directory in Windows Explorer.

I don't know how performance is affected by a large number of individual files.

Hi Peter,

Performance can go down with a large number of files in the mounted and root folder.  This would be more toward the content showing up in the access point, because QVS has to scan each file to check to see if you are authorized to open the document. Then if a document has section access it will check to see if you are authorized there before it will show you the documents in access point. So, the more documents it has to scan the longer it will take.
