with section access, is reload necessary when copying whole environment?

Hi

We normally use script to copy whole environment (including db, source document, user document, etc.) from existing environment for new customer, as base for further development. Due to section access, we need to reload before accessing the qv file in new environment.

In some use case, we cannot wait for long reload. is it possible to access the qv file from new environment without reload?

We use QV12.3, AJAX and IIS.

Best regards,

Susan

Susan,

Can you please provide more details as to what you're trying to do here, are you trying to move an existing Qlikview environment onto a new server or are you trying to transfer tasks from one environment to another?

Thanks,
Josh

Susan, you would likely need to use a USERID/PASSWORD entry in the Section Access load that acts as your 'back door'...

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/November2018/Subsystems/Client/Content/QV_QlikView/Security.htm

This way, if there is no NTNAME match etc., then you should get the login dialog where you can type in that USERID/PASSWORD you loaded...  Just be sure you give that row ADMIN level and full access to all the data as well by leaving any reduction fields with a value of 'blank'...  This account will not be able to open things via QlikView Server and Strict Exclusion being enabled, just FYI if reduction fields exist in this case.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Brett
