Access Point

Hello Everyone,

I have copied 3 .qvw files in user doc folder(1.qvw, 2.qvw, 3.qvw) and i have created 3 local user in window server (Bob, Freddy and Qservice). For Bob i assigned one document cal for 1.qvw. Now when bob open the access point he see's all 3 documents in accesspoint. is it expected behaviour or not (coz i have assigned only one document 1.qvw to bob).

Thanks in advance.

Only the users you wish to see the qvw should have NTFS user permissions to it.

Yep, if you want Bob to see only one app you should change the file security in Windows (right click > Properties > Secuity > Add / Remove user).

However, if you have Publisher, you can create a distribution job that assigns permissions automatically.

Cheers!

To successfully open a document from Access Point, you need two things:

1. Permission to the file. Granted through a combination of two items:

a) NTFS (Windows) file Read permission, or DMS if using DMS.

b) Section Access if used in the document.

2. A license

The Access Point listing only considers item#1, the Permission. It does not know or anticipate what license type you will use to open the file. As others have pointed out, you need to use permission attributes to filter the AP display of offered documents.
