Access SBE server from web - is it posible

Hi,

We have a SBE QlikView license, can you please tell me if it is possible to access the AccessPoint from outside the intranet, using Active Directory authentication?

Thank you!

If you're not using a VPN then the answer is most likely no. The documentation says:

"Small Business Edition (SBE) only supports Windows-based authorization (Active Directory

and Windows local users) and utilizes the web server to do the authentication against

Windows. So if users are managed in Windows, SBE could be deployed in a DMZ. The

SBE license, however, does not allow for external users. Customers that require access by

external users should consider QlikView Extranet Server. QlikView Extranet Server allows

access by external users and can be used with any user management system."

Exactly this is why I posted the question, the documentation is really ambiguous.

On one hand it says that " if users are managed in Windows, SBE could be deployed in a DMZ", so we can expose the SBE server to the Internet.

Next it says that "The SBE license, however, does not allow for external users.".

What I think this means is that you can connect only Active Directory users through Internet to the server but you cannot have clients that create their own account / clients outside the Windows Directory connect to the server.

Is my logic correct?
