Adding to Source Data

Hi,

I have an Excel file of data and have linked it to a QlikView app.  I've already made several charts using this data.  However, I would like to add some columns to the source data (things I hadn't thought of before or new things to start tracking).  Some of these columns I want to add in between existing columns.  Whenever I do this, QlikView freaks out and says it can't locate the original data (even though all the column headings are the same, with addition of the new data).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  I don't want to have to rebuild all my charts!

Hi Alison,

could you upload a copy of your xls and qvw?

You cant create new fields in table.

But you can define using Inline load and can map with existing table!!

You can do alias and other opertaion on existing fields and can define those new fields as alias

What does that mean, 'do alias'?

The problem is that I used names as one of my fields and don't want that to be shown in the QlikView charts, so I was going to add a column of numeric identifiers for each person.
