Hi Johannes,
Your answer is help me so much on definition of each CALs. I know that some of license CALs need server and the other just install one client machine.
So that what kind of license CALs need server? And what kind of license CALs no need server?
What advantages and disadvantages of using licenss CALs on Server and on client?
Thanks in advanced!

Hi,
The CALs are all for the server and depending on the customer needs, the server license will contain different (or a mix of) CALs.
When you talk about CALs for the QlikView standalone (dekstop install), you can Lease a license from a QlikView Server if using Named User CALs. This means that the person leasing the license from the QVS gets full developer capabilities for 30 days. As long as the client is able to touch the server during this period, the license lease will be renewed so that the user can continue to use standalone QV with full capabilities.
Hope this makes sense
