Average (Sum of Average) in a Pivot Table

Hi All,

I need help on the problem below.  Hope someone can help to enlighten me on this.  Thanks!

Qns 2.jpg

Above is a pivot table.

Each value in the table is an average for each question.   This is done by an expression.

I am trying to create a new Average Total at the bottom of the table where all the values in column A is sum and divided by the number of rows.

Would appreciate if some one can help on this.  Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, I am doing a constant in this case.  Column A should always show Subject A data only.

I tried your suggested expression and it worked well.  Attached is the screenshot,if you compare column A and column B, you can see the bottom average is different.  Column A is what I wanted.

In addition, your expression has an advantage over mine expression.

In my data, there are some data fields which are "N/A"

If I use "SUM/Count" expression, qlikview will take in this "N/A" as one count which is not what I want.

If I use  "avg" expression, qlikview will not take in this "N/A" as one count which reflect a more accurate result.

Thanks again to all who help in this. Have a great day!
