Best Practices for Hiring a Consultant to do Basic Data Model Developing

Hello!

Our company purchased Qlikview in March, and I am working to get some basic KPIs running through Qlikview by the end of our fiscal year (June 30). I am the sole designer and developer for our Qlikview deployment, and have a business and economics background (non-technical.) Our company is a medium size clothing manufacturer, and distributor with retail, wholesale and web channels.  My stumbling point at this time in our deployment has been a building a comprehensive data model and getting that snowflake schema to ensure reload efficiently.  It seems to me that given our limited time frame it would be the best use of our time to hire someone to help us build our data model.  I have two main questions.  (1) Is it possible for someone build out a data model from our ERP system that we could use as the foundation for most of our Qlikview applications? and (2) What is the best way to hire and execute on a consulting agreement.

Any help, suggestions, reviews or thoughts are much appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance!

Marian

Marian,

1. Looks like 2- or 3-tier architecture - creating QVD layers which in turn are the sources for QV apps.

2. You can contact our company and discuss: CRM Solutions & Experts - Infinity Info Systems

Michael
