The process cannot access the file 'abc.qvw' because it is being used by another process.
We have some users doing binary loads of production QVWs. One in particular is fairly large, and the user's computer sometimes freezes mid load. As a result, they are locking the QVW that they only have Read & Execute permissions to, and then Publisher fails overnight.
Is there any way to prevent this?
I have some ideas.. But I don't have sure why so many users are reading a Production QVW (cannot them use Access point or open in server? - they can create expressions and objects , if permitted )
The simplest idea is to create a copy of the files the users wants to read to a Shared Folder ... You can do it on may ways (if have publisher you can save a new copy of qvw in other folder , if you haven't you can use a bath on windows task to perform a copy ) .But if someone fails on reading it can have the same issue.
Personally I like to read .qvd files instead of qvw. Qvd files usually takes less time reading, and has less chance of been blocked by other users.
