Browser and selections not cleared

Hi,

We have some reports available for our different users on our ClikView server, and have some feedbacks from them:

The case (in a browser):

  • A user looks at one of the reports, makes some selections, looks at the results, and then moves on to another report. He closes the tab where the previous/first report and selection was open...
  • If he then wants to check out the first report again, and opens it - we have come across situations where the selections made previously are still there.. (the report is not at "the starting" point, but shows the state with the earlier selections).
  • If I close the entire browser (and not only the tab) - and re-open it and the report, then these selections are not there, the report is at the starting point again (starting point = no selections are still made)
  • (its of course not a problem to clear these selections and start over again with new selections)
  • But still, we want the default function to be that every time you open a report, for the first time after opening the browser, or the second time in a new tab, the selections are always cleared...

Is this possible to set in ClikView, or might it have someting to do with the browser settings...?

The events you have described is exactly how QlikView works and the idea behind associative analysis.

What you want to achieve though could be done in the following manner:
Right Click the Sheet you want to clear when opened and choose Properties
Click on the Triggers Tab
On the "On Activate Sheet" Click Add Actions
Under Selections: Select the "Clear All" Action
Add the "Clear All" Action

You can also instead of choosing the On Activate Sheet option choose the On Leave option - but then you will have inconsistency in selections of users entering for the first time and then making selections.

Hope this helps or points you in the right direction.

Hi criketball,

One way to clear the previous selections on the Browsers is as follows:

Change 'My Prefered Client' to 'IE Plugin',

and on the right top corner of your Qlikview report icon, click the downside arrow, and click 'Remove last document state'

Hope this can fix the problem for you.
