I've been asked to build a special report, but I'm getting some problems.
Let me try to explain: I've got two fact tables (Income and Budget) which share the same Time Hierarchy. Over the Income table there are a lot of other look-up tables (product, ecc, ecc..) which are needed in order to filter the income.
So, this is the problem: my client wants a pivot table year/month, with the sum for each row of Budget and Income. While usually we've got a budget for each month of the year, that's not true for the Income, especially when we go down with many namy filters...and so, I keep only the budget linked to the filtered incomes, but that's not correct.
So, how can I say that, when I filter something over the look-up tables which aren't shared, that doesn't influence the Budget? Should I use Set Analisys (which I don't know, and if anyone has got some tip on how to use it, I'd be very glad).
More over: we've got another client who might, one day, have the same problem. The question here is: this client has got QlikView 7.5, so if there is a solution with Set Analisys, it won't work for them...is there a common solution?
