If you have a license, then you can.

If you are using a QlikView Desktop Personal Edition, then you can recover your single application on your new laptop and continue developing. You will have used one of your four recoveries. If you use all of your recoveries, you will be forced to create new documents or buy a license.

Thanks Peter for your response. I remember I did try to open once my application in other system. How do I know how many recoveries left without trying one more time in any other system now ?  Is there any way to know the recoveries left for me ?

Suresh

The number of recovery attempts is tied to the platform, not to the document. If you move to a new laptop and install QV Desktop, your Windows user will have 4 recoveries available on that platform.

Anyway, every time you open a document that you did not create in your PE Desktop, you will be alerted by QlikView that you are trying to do a recovery. The Dialog will tell you how many attempts are still available and offer you the chance to abort the recovery without consuming an attempt. So to figure out how many recoveries are left, just open a document not created by you, check the dialog message and abort the recovery.

Best,

Peter
