Can I make a MAPPING table with a wildcard?

Hi,

in the code of one of our loading apps, there is a rather complex multiple IF-construct with Wildmatch() functions.

I would like to make that into a mapping table - that way, we could store this nformation centrally in an Excel file or so and I guess it would be resource-friendlier - plus we would not run the risk of having the same code in slight variations in several places ...

=> The question is, can I make a mapping table that includes the * (wildcard) as there may be several codes for the same thing?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Wildcard when ApplyMap

Hi Michael,

thanks!

My colleague is able, however, to draw up a complete list of all the possible values that can  be in the database, so I can make a mapping table without the need for wildcards. That makes the whole thing much easier to maintain in case anything should change.

Those qlikview-components do look very interesting. I will have a closer look when I find the time.
