Can i use variable to determine the Drill-Down / Cycle Group Dimension

i would like to change the dimension base on the selection of the variable.

However , if the dimension is already a Drill-Down / Cycle Group , it fail to provide the Drill-Down / Cycle Group function

Yes, the chart builds its navigations (drill / group) at design time based on the field type.  It won't change dynamically.

Actually, I would recommend that you don't change it dynamically anyway.  If you are getting users to select different fields in one UI element to change it in the other, then it would be confusing for them to have the facility to then change it in the other also.

Keep it as simple as possible.

You can try create two groups with the same fields. one is drill down, and one is cycle group.

and then create an action buttons to control which group to use by using variables and if statements.
