Change text object background color without duplication expression

Hi. I have a text object with a value that has a rather long formula. I hope to change the background color of the text box based on its value (e.g. red if below 0 and green otherwise). Right now I am just duplicating the formula into the color condition and it's working fine. But I am wonder if there's a more elegant way to do it rather than duplicating it? I thought of setting the value to a variable but couldn't seem to find an appropriate trigger.

Thanks in advance!
