Compare data sets

Hi,

I am new to Qlikview and was looking into the capability of taking two data sets, preferably 2 excel sheets, of similar data (I.E. a before and after report from a migration) and using Qlikview to show the differences in the data for validation purposes. I was wondering what the best way to go about this would be. From other forum posts, it seems like this is possible.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply Sushil.

Here is an example:

Say you bring in two tables with the first column being the primary key.

Table A

1, Linda, Smith, Chicago

2, Mike, Cook, New York

3, Chris, Thompson, Pittsburgh

4, Ashley, Johnson, Baltimore

5, Mark, Campbell, Boston

and the other table is

Table B

1, Linda, Smith, Chicago

2, Mike, Cook, Detriot

4, Ashley, Johnson, Baltimore

5, Mark, Campbell, Boston

I was wondering if there is a way that you can load the tables from excel sheets, run a one to one comparison on the tables, and have Qlikview display that

-3, Chris, Thompson, Pittsburgh from Table A is missing in Table B

-Data on row ID 2 is not matching

Try this :

TableB:

LOAD * INLINE [

    ID, FName, LName, Country

    1, Linda, Smith, Chicago

    2, Mike, Cook, New York

    4, Ashley, Johnson, Baltimore

    5, Mark, Campbell, Boston

];

QUALIFY *;

TableA:

LOAD *  Where not Exists(ID);

LOAD * INLINE [

    ID, FName, LName, Country

    1, Linda, Smith, Chicago

    2, Mike, Cook, New York

    3, Chris, Thompson, Pittsburgh

    4, Ashley, Johnson, Baltimore

    5, Mark, Campbell, Boston

];

- May be it solves you.
