Conditional show

I have a text object I want to be displayed when a chart is displayed. And when the chart is minimized the text object should also be minimized.
Is it possible?

Hi

In the example, show the text object when activate a chart and then, deactivate chart the object not displayed.

This works with macros.

To minimize I could not.

This is possible simply by using variables and conditional show (rather than the standard minimize).  I have posted an example of this as a shared QlikView: http://community.qlik.com/qlikviews/1105

This approach gives you much more control over your user interface than auto minimize.

Note that you should always put a calculation condition on charts that matches their show condition - so that it doesn't use resources even when not shown.

Hope that helps,

Steve

Hi Steve

I could not see your example, I got an error message when I clicked on the link.
Can you please send your example again?

But it does not work when using the AJAX client. The variables will not be set.

Any other suggestions?

Johan - the link is working for me here (Google Chrome browser).  You may need to be logged into QlikCommunity before you click the link?

Martin - I have not uploaded that example to a server to test it, but I have used that technique on documents that have been published via Ajax.  As it is the example will only work with QV9 or above - but it is a relatively simple change to set the buttons to fire macros rather than Actions.

What version and service release are you trying it with?

Hello Steve,

I am using QV 10 SR2 but I'm not sure about the IE Version.

But also the QV support confirmed that thia way not works with AJAX.

A client of mine has just downloaded the document from Shared QlikViews and placed it on their server.  It works fine under Ajax for them.  If it does not work for you then there must be a configuration issue.  I'm surprised you were told it wouldn't work - can you point the support person to this thread and that shared QlikView?
