Conversion of Text Field to Numeric Field

I would like to convert a product code field (Item#) to a numeric field to use it in identifying types of products. It is imported daily from our ERP system as a text field.

Have a look in the help file at the num() or num#() functions.

eg: num(ITEM#,'##########')

the '#############' is the format you wish to display the number in.
