Hi,
I have two reports that are identical, bar the data that is held in them
I have added a lime green banner to one, and a more conservative banner to the other, but people being people are still mixing the two up.
Is there anyway of creating a pop up that opens when the report opens, and you have to 'Accept', i.e. click on 'OK', to accept which report you are in? Does that make sense?
So, I open a report, pop up appear that says ' You are in ***** report. Please click 'OK' to open this report'.
Can it be done?
Thanks
Di
Hi
You can use the Alert option for that. Hope the attached sample qvw helps you.
I would display a textbox with this message with say two additional text objects\buttons. The ok button sets a variable value which you use to hide the objects involved (layout\conditional show). The cancel button you could use to open the other qvw file with a trigger.
Or you could have a landing page instead of slightly different banner. Details on the landing page would make it obvious what dashboard the user has open.

Hi,
Added report name as well in the alert. Hope that helps
Thanks!!!
Was fiddling with the alerts, but just couldn't get it to pop up!
Missed out the 1 in the 'Condition'.
Thanks!

Hi,
This looks very new and different to me.
Could you please explain how an alert object is created, as i do not see it popping within the list of new sheet objects list when we do the right click.
Hi,
Go to:
Tools => Alerts
Create it using the information from above.
Save and close your report. Open it again and the alert will appear.

Thanks Diane:)

I just wanted to be extra sure!!!
