Hello everybody,
I need to add a column (dimension or expression) in a Straight Table with an icon. Then, I'd like to asociate a Trigger to the icon, so when I click on it I could set up some variables and make some actions, for example, activate another sheet.
Do you know if there is a way to do that?
Thanks,
Ariel
What you want is not possible. An expression can have only one Representation setting, not two. So it can be either a Link or and Image, but not both.
Hello Ariel!. What you can do as a button is enabled or disabled objects either list box, pivot tables, bar chart, etc.. Well if that's you I could give you an idea of how. Greetings!
Walterlh, thanks for your answer but I didn't understand your idea.
I've attached a qvw that tries to show what I mean: There is a Straight Table with a dimension and two expression:
1. An icon, but with no link.
2. A link, but with only text and no icon.
What I'd like to have is an expression with an icon AND a link, so if I click the icon it takes me to the web through its URL.
I hope the file will clarify the situation so you can help me.
Thanks,
Ariel
For simple tables:
In the graph properties / expressions / Representation
Select this link to enter a
expression in the Definition field to create a
link that you can click on the cell
table. The expression should return a text
can be interpreted as text
Viewing <url> Text Link. The Text
Viewing will be displayed in the table cell and
Text Link will open the link in a
new browser window. If you define a
link, the value of the table cell appear
underlined. If no link is defined, the value
not appear underlined. Note that it is not
possible choices in a cell that has the
Link in display mode. Clicking
the ... button the entire dialog box opens
Define Expression.
Examples:
Name & <url> = '<Font <FTag
= Name & '<url> www.qlik.com'
Name and Link where table fields are loaded
in the script.
I hope you serve. regards

That is the way to create an expression with link over a Text. That would be the expression no.2 that I mentioned before and it is showed in the qvw.
Is there any way for creating an expression like: "Icon<url>Link" insted of "Text<url>Link"?
